Accidental Death Benefit (Double Indemnity)

Definition
Pays a multiple of the face (2× = double indemnity) if death is accidental; the insured usually must die within 90 days of the accident.
Exam tip
The cause on the death certificate decides the claim — heart attack causing a crash = NO ADB. No ADB for illness, war, riot, self-inflicted injury, or private aviation.
