Any Occupation Definition
Definition
Totally disabled only if unable to perform your own occupation OR any occupation for which you are reasonably suited by education, training, or experience. Stricter and cheaper than own-occ — but still gentler than Social Security's version.
Exam tip
Strictness ladder: own occupation (easiest to qualify) → any occupation (reasonably suited) → Social Security's 'any substantial gainful activity' (hardest). 'Gainful' = the SSDI keyword.
