Backdating (Saving Age)
Definition
Making the policy effective at an earlier date so premiums are based on a younger age — a lifetime of lower premiums. Conditions: the insurer must allow it, usually limited to 6 months back, and the next premium is due on the backdated anniversary.
Exam tip
The 6-month cap is industry practice (and statute in some other states) — not a Florida statutory limit. Learn it as the expected exam answer, but don't attach a Florida cite to it.
