Florida Code of Ethics (Agents)
Definition
By statute, the DFS adopts and maintains a code of ethics for all Florida insurance agents, governing conduct with the public, other agents, and insurers. It was developed in consultation with NAIFA-Florida and is designed to avoid acts that would be grounds for suspension/revocation and to avoid unfair trade practices. Obligations include protecting client confidences and privacy, presenting all facts accurately and honestly, timely service, continuing education, and obeying the letter AND spirit of the law. All applicants for licensure must subscribe to the code of ethics.
