Inspection (Investigative Consumer) Report
Definition
Ordered for LARGE policies from outside investigative agencies: the applicant's general character, reputation, mode of living, finances, and hazards — built from interviews with employers, neighbors, associates. Under the FCRA the applicant must be notified that an investigative report may be made and, on request, is entitled to disclosure of its nature and scope — plus a free copy of the file from the reporting agency after any adverse action.
