Long-Term Care Rider (Generalized vs Integrated)
Definition
Pays if the insured is certified as unable to perform at least 2 of the 6 ADLs (eating, toileting, transferring, bathing, dressing, continence) for at least 90 days, or needs substantial supervision due to severe cognitive impairment. Generalized (independent) = payout does NOT reduce the face. Integrated = payout reduces the death benefit dollar-for-dollar.
