LTC Benefit Triggers
Definition
Two triggers — either qualifies: 1️⃣ inability to perform 2 of the 6 ADLs without substantial assistance 2️⃣ cognitive impairment (memory, orientation, reasoning, safety judgment — Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, senile dementia). Tax-qualified policies also require a diagnosis expecting the disability to last at least 90 days and a written plan of care.
