Public Adjuster vs All-Lines Adjuster

Adjuster licenses split two ways. A public adjuster, for compensation, prepares/completes/files claims for an insured or third-party claimant, negotiates or effects settlement on their behalf, advertises for such employment, or solicits/investigates/adjusts claims for them. An all-lines adjuster, for compensation, undertakes on behalf of a public adjuster or an INSURER to ascertain and determine claim amounts payable, to effect settlement, or to solicit claims on behalf of a public adjuster.

Public adjuster = hired gun for the claimant. All-lines adjuster = works the claim for the company (or a public adjuster).
