Anti-Fraud Reward Program

Definition
The DFS may pay rewards of up to $25,000 to persons providing information leading to the arrest of persons committing insurance-fraud crimes under Florida insurance law (F.S. 626.9892). Only a single reward may be paid for claims arising out of the same transaction or occurrence — regardless of the number of persons arrested and convicted or the number of claimants — though the Department may divide it among multiple tipsters. Funded from the Insurance Regulatory Trust Fund.
In plain English
Snitch on insurance fraud, and if it leads to an arrest, the state can cut you a check up to $25,000.
Exam tip
The statutory trigger is information leading to arrest — older study materials say "arrest and conviction," but the statute's reward sentence requires arrest.
