Life · Chapter 21 · Conversion

Death During the Conversion Period

Definition
A Florida group life policy must provide that if a member dies during the conversion period — before an individual policy is issued — the amount of life insurance the member would have been entitled to convert is payable as a death benefit under the group policy.
In plain English
Die inside the conversion window and the group policy pays as if you had converted — no individual policy needed.
