Unlawful Use of Designations

Definition
In any sales presentation or solicitation, a licensee may NOT use a designation or title that falsely implies special financial knowledge/training or certification to advise senior citizens; may not use terms like "financial advisor" to falsely imply being licensed to sell financial products other than insurance; and may not falsely imply qualification to discuss or sell securities. A licensee who actually holds a CFP, CLU, ChFC, LUTC (life underwriter training council fellow), or a FINRA securities license MAY inform customers of it and make recommendations in accordance with those credentials.
