Licensing Examination & Reexamination

Each exam tests the applicant's ability, competence, and knowledge of the kinds of insurance under the license sought, the licensee's duties, and pertinent Florida law. A nonrefundable examination fee is paid before sitting — and a separate fee for each separate class of license, even when the exams are taken the same day and place. Failing, no-showing, or not completing doesn't bar later attempts, but an applicant may not take the exam for the same license type more than five (5) times in a 12-month period. The Department may also require someone whose license expired or was suspended to pass an examination again before relicensing.

Pay per class, every fee nonrefundable — and five strikes in twelve months means waiting out the clock.
