Buyer's Guide (Florida Life)
Definition
An informational and educational tool for consumers buying life insurance: general information on the features, benefits, and types of life products, helping the buyer choose the amount and type of insurance and save money by comparing the cost of similar policies. In Florida, if the insurer does not provide a free look period, the Buyer's Guide and a policy summary must be provided before an initial premium is paid.
In plain English
The generic shopping brochure — it teaches life insurance in general, not your specific policy.
Exam tip
⚠️ Trap: the before-the-first-premium deadline applies when there's NO free look. Generic guide = Buyer's Guide; policy-specific data = policy summary.
