Group Life Insurance
Definition
Life insurance written on more than one person under a single contract — typically an employer covering its employees. Almost always written as annual renewable term (ART). A two-party contract between the policyholder (employer) and the insurer — the insured employee is never the policy owner.
In plain English
One contract, many lives. The company buys it, the workers are covered under it, and it renews year by year like term insurance.
