Master Policy
Definition
The actual group contract, issued to the employer / plan sponsor (the policy owner). It contains all the insuring clauses that define the benefits.
Exam tip
Master policy → the EMPLOYER. Certificate of insurance → the EMPLOYEE. Classic exam pairing.
