Illegal Occupation Provision
Definition
Optional provision letting the insurer deny claims for losses from the insured committing or attempting a felony (e.g., robbing a bank) or engaging in an illegal occupation (e.g., running a meth lab) — the statute's exact pairing (F.S. 627.628). If discovered after payment, the insurer denies the claim and recovers the funds.
