Life Policy Exclusions (Aviation, Hazardous Activities)
Definition
Common life exclusions beyond war and suicide: high-risk aviation (stunt/test/student pilots, flight instructors, crop-dusting — fare-paying commercial passengers and crew ARE generally covered) and hazardous occupations or hobbies (today insurers usually charge extra premium — a rate-up — instead of excluding).
Exam tip
If a cause is excluded at issue, it's excluded forever; if it's NOT excluded, it's covered forever — the insurer can't add exclusions after a claim.
