Medigap Open Enrollment & Pre-Ex

Definition
Six months starting the month one is both 65 AND enrolled in Part B: guaranteed issue, no medical underwriting. Apply later and insurers may underwrite, rate, or decline. All policies may impose a 6-month pre-existing exclusion with a 6-month look-back; replacements can't restart probation.
Exam tip
Both switches must be on — 65 AND Part B — for the six-month clock to start.
