Multiple Employer Trust (MET)

Definition
A fully insured MEWA established by a third party (insurer/TPA) pooling small employers for group benefits. The TRUST holds the master contract — employers subscribe as members; employees get certificates.

MET vs MEWA: MET = fully insured, trust holds the contract. MEWA = broader, may be self-funded.
