Multiple Employer Welfare Arrangement (MEWA)

Definition
An ERISA arrangement providing health/welfare benefits to employees of two or more unrelated employers — often self-insured. Can be a trust, corporation, or LLC; a common bond is NOT required. Subject to ERISA plus non-conflicting state regulation.
