Parol Evidence Rule

Definition
Only the written policy counts; verbal promises made before or at issue don't override it.
Exam tip
Parol = PAST (spoken words before issue). Estoppel = EXISTING policy (after in force). Note the spelling: parol (oral), not "parole" — many study decks get it wrong.
