Transacting Insurance (Florida)
Definition
Any of the following, done in connection with the business of insurance: solicitation or inducement, preliminary negotiations, effectuation of a contract of insurance, and transaction of matters subsequent to effectuation and arising from it. Commonly simplified to soliciting, negotiating, and selling — and servicing an existing contract counts too.
In plain English
From the first sales pitch to servicing the policy years later — it's all "transacting insurance," and all of it requires proper licensing.
Exam tip
⚠️ Servicing an in-force policy IS transacting insurance — "the sale already happened" is not a licensing loophole.
